| Route Notes | Dickinson reached the summit on May 15 at 5:30 am from the South Col after starting at around 1:30 am. On the summit day, the weather was windy and most of the climbers had stayed behind in C4. Dickinson spent about 30 minutes in the summit. He started his descent and reached the South Col at 1 pm where his team member Dennis Broadwell had been waiting. While descending from the summit Dickinson had snowblindness because he had forgotten to take his snow goggles. As for Broadwell, he had to abandon his climb because his Sherpa Nawang had problems with his oxygen mask regulator and they did not have sufficient oxygen to go up. Dickinson's Sherpa, Pasang could not accompany him hecause he had been sick since they reached C4, and did not think it was appropriate to go up. On May 14, all of them went down to C2. They spent the night there and headed to Pheriche the next day (May 17), and reached there the same day. Sherpas: Pasang Temba, Lukla, 6/2043, Everest X2 5/25/10 & 9/15/2010 Ngawang Lhakpa, Chaplung |
