Route Notes During their acclimatization period, the team used C1.5 for one night only, 5 May. After that, it was bypassed. Except for the leader, who stopped in C1 in order to direct the climb from there, all members participated in the summit push of 20/21 May. They left C3 at 11:00 pm (NST) Non-summiting members: Baumann-Klittich and her husband, Baumann, climbed to 8700m and then descended to ABC on the 21st for "no clear reason," according to the leader. Brakus reached 8750m on the 21st but had no more strength to continue his ascent. He went back to C2 that day and to ABC on the 22nd. All the other members (that is, other than Baumann, Baumann-Klittich, Brakus and Kobler) gained the summit between 5:00 am (by Paratscha) and 6:00 am (by Fiala). All three members except Fiala, Gielesberger and Paratscha descended to ABC that day. Fiala stopped in C2, while Gielesberger and Paratscha went as far as C1. Oxygen was used by every member and Sherpa who went above C1 (Kobler did not go above it) from C1 except Paratscha, who began using it from C3, and Wirth, who used it from C2. Paratscha descended from the summit on it down to C1; Wirth was on it from C2 to the top to C3. All the Sherpas used it from C3 to the summit to C3. The Sherpas with them were Dendi, Jangbu, two Namgyals, Ngima Chhiring Lama, Pemba, Pemba Norbu and Phurba Kusang. Two more Sherpas climbed above C3, but failed to get to the summit. They were: Nga Dorje, 19/12/75, Makalu-9 (reached 8560m) Ngima Dorji, 10/9/75, Makalu-9 (reached 8320m) Sherpa Summiters: Pemba Norbu, 6/12/78, Lelep-9, Taplejung Dendi Sherpa, 22/1/83, Deku, Taksindu-5, Solu, Everest X1, Cho Oyu X1 Jangbu Sherpa, 1/10/87 (1/10/81?), Sotang, Solu, Everest X2 Namgyal Sherpa, 11/8/71, Lelep, Taplejung, Everest X9, Cho Oyu X1 Kusang Tenzing, 16/5/86, Lelep-9, Taplejung Ngima Chhiring Lama, 15/8/73, Yamphudin-3, Taplejung Pemba Sherpa, 9/7/82, Lelep-8, Taplejung, Everest X1, Cho Oyu X1 Phurba Kusang Sherpa, 10/9/75, Makalu-9 (given as Phurbu Kusang, 6/12/73, Makalu-9 for DHA1-101-02)
