Route Notes The team went first to Island Peak in Khumbu before going into Tibet to climb Everest, and three members summited it on 4 April. After having set up the usual number of high camps with C3 at 8300m on 19 May, Agullo and Fernandez left C3 at 8:30 pm (NST) that night. Agullo reached 8700m at 7 am on the 20th, but stopped there: he was too tired to continue the final ascent to the summit, and Ang Phurba Sherpa stopped with him. They waited there for Fernandez to climb to the top at 7:30 am. Then the two Spaniards and Ang Phurba descended together to C3 at 3:00 pm to spend that night, and went down to advance base camp on the 21st. Lhakpa Nurbu, the other climbing Sherpa with the team, had gone ahead alone to the summit on the 20th at 7:00 am and went down to advance base camp the same day. Garcia was returning to ABC after resting at BC, but at 6300m on about 5 May, he developed pulmonary edema and had to turn around and abandoned the climb. Trasobares developed pulmonary edema soon after arrival at BC and left the expedition on 24 April. The only other health problem was Fernandez's slight frostbite on his toes. Oxygen was used by the four climbers who went above C3. The two members used it from C3 to their high points only. Their Sherpas were on oxygen from C3 to their high points to C2. Sherpas: Lhakpa Nurbu, 14/2/83, Tashigaon, Makalu-5, Sankhuwasabha, Everest X1 Ang Phurba, 26/8/67, Chheplung, Chaurikharka-3, Solu, Everest X2, Cho Oyu X4
