| Route Notes | Three of the expedition's Sherpas worked with a few other Sherpas fixing the ropes to the summit on 5 May. They got to C4 on the 4th and finished the job to the top at 11:30 am on the 5th. They were Chuwang Nima, Kami Rita and Phura Kancha. Nine members and eight Sherpas summited on one day, the 24th. They were: Members Sherpas Folkerts Ang Pasang Healy Chuwang Nima Horst Dawa Nuru Kraft Kami Rita Levine Lhakpa Rita Madison Mingma Dorje Martin Mingma Chhiri Tejas Phura Kancha Vescovo They went to C4 on the 22nd. Healy (aged 65), Tejas (one of three deputy leaders) and Ang Pasang left camp at 9:45 pm, while all others in the summit party left at 10:45 pm. They reached the top on 24 May at slightly different times: Folkerts, Levine, Madison, Chuwang Nima, Mingma Dorje and Phura Kancha at 8:10 am; Horst, Martin, Vescovo, Kami Rita and Mingma Chhiri at 8:20 am; and Healy, Kraft, Tejas, Ang Pasang and Dawa Nuru at 8:50 am. For Chuwang Nima, Kami Rita and Phura Kancha, this was their second ascent this month since they had been there on 5 May fixing rope. There was a light wind blowing when they were on the summit and it was slightly cloudy, but when they got down to the South Summit, they were in thick clouds. All returned to C4 between noon and 1:00 pm and stayed there that night. On the 25th Tejas and Martin descended all the way to BC; Tejas was attempting to set a speed record for the elapsed time between the first and last of the seven summits. The next day, the 26th, they were picked up by a helicopter from Gorak Shep and flown to Kathmandu. All the other summiters stopped at C2, were back in BC on the 26th and left BC on the 27th. Healy, Craft and Vescovo went to Gorak Shep that day and flew by helicopter to Kathmandu; Vescovo went on to Bangkok the same afternoon. Non-summiting members: Henke was BC manager and did not go above BC. Kluberton was assistant BC manager and also did not go higher. McDonald developed a problem with his sciatic nerve in C2 on 18 May, retreated to BC on the 21st and left the same day in a helicopter from Gorak Shep. Rudolf had gastrointestinal problems in BC and left by helicopter on 15 April. Smith got to C3 but was incapable of climbing higher and left the expedition on 7 May. Oxygen was used by all members except Horst and Kraft while going for the summit, sleeping in C3, going to the top and down to C2. Horst and Kraft started using it in C2 on their way up because Kraft was rather dizzy on the day that members left C2 on the team's summit push, and Horst (a deputy leader) moved with him. The Sherpas used none while fixing rope or climbing with members.
