Route Notes Summit on 24 May by Metz, Disney, Nima Gyalzen and Nima Nurbu at 7:38 am: de la Harpe and Karma Gyalzen at 8:15 am; Swart and Pemba Rinjin at 8:25 am; Engelbrecht and Ang Kaji at 8:30 am; Marseden, Ang Dorje and Sonam Bhote at 8:35 am. Summit team left C3 at 11 pm. It was cloudy and it was snowing, but it was warm and not windy. They spent about 25 minutes on the summit. No views from the summit. Metz descended to ABC where he arrived at 6:30 pm; Disney and De la Harpe descended to C1, where they arrived at 6:30 pm and the rest of the team descended to C2, where they arrived at 7 pm. On 25th May they all descended to ABC. Grove reached 6400m on 18 April. Due to respiratory problems he abandoned the expedition and did not go further. He left the expedition on 2nd May. O'Connor reached 7700m (C2) on 22nd May during the summit push. He was moving too slowly the day before, so he spent the night at C2 and decided to descend the next day. He left C2 at 1:30 pm and reached ABC at about 6 pm. Injuries: Swart got frostbite on both his hands. He thinks he got it on the way down from C3 to C2. He noticed it in his tent at C2. he tried to warm his hands. Dr Torie Goodman treated Swart and thought that he could keep his fingers.
