Route Notes Summit: 23 May by Wells, Lhakpa Gyalgen and Kami Rita Sherpa at 5:30 am, Robertson, Lhakpa Nuru, Bock, Mingma Nuru, Lhakpa Rangdu, Phurba at 9 am. Summit: 24 May by Hoby, Jackson, Pemba Tenjing, Ngima Nuru at 8:30 am. 23rd May Summit team and Ronnie Muhl left C4 at 8:30 pm on 22nd May. It was breezy and clear. Muhl reached 8200m at 11:30 pm. He turned back as he felt tired and it was not a good day for him. He descended to C4, where he arrived at 12:30 am. The rest of the team carried on. They spent about 20 minutes on the summit. Good views. Wells and Kami Rita descended to C2, where they arrived at 3 pm. The rest of the team descended to C4, where they arrived between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. On 24th May they descended to C2 and on 25th May to BC. Hoby, Jackson, Ngima Nuru and Pemba Tenzing arrived at C4 at 1 pm and left for their summit push at 8:30 pm on 23rd May. It was very windy and it was snowing. Straightforward climb. They spent about 20 minutes on the summit. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 1 pm. They spent the night there and descended to BC on 25th May. They left C4 at 8 am and reached BC at 8:30 pm. Cooke reached Namche Bazar at the beginning of the expedition. He had a viral infection and was helicoptered out from Syangboche on 5th April. Petousis reached C1 on 20th April. He felt altitude sickness and did not like the icefall and left the expedition on 27th April. Surtees reached C2 on 21st April. He spent a few nights there. He did not like the climb and decided to leave the expedition on 1st May. Williams reached C3 on 28th April. He also did not like the climb and decided to leave the expedition on 1st May.
