| Route Notes | This team climbed as part of the Chinese Holy Mountain team, but went to the summit one day later. According to what Hu said, although he was really very tired, there was still a chance for him to summit with a slow tempo (due to time was still early) if the assistant accompanied him. But the second Nepali assistant (Kul Bahadur Magar) often pointed to dead bodies around to attack his confidence and finally left him behind at 8800m. Yes, Kul Bahadur Magar did summit. But as an assistant, he thinks he is not qualified. Hu sat at 8800m, took breath with his oxygen, and looked at the dead bodies around pointed by Kul Bahadur Magar. "To become a hero or to become a body. It was a struggle in my mind," Hu said. He ponderred a lot and soon lost power to move forward. |
