Route Notes The team consisting of Novotny, Palacky and Poloch started its summit push on 19 May from C2. When they reached at 7800m, Poloch was very slow and ran out of energy. It was not possible for him to continue. Then he went back to C2 with Palacky. Novotny continued his climb and reached C3 at 5 pm. He had rest and food then started again at 10 pm. When he arrived at 8635m at about 7 am of 20 May, snowstorm started picking up that forced Novotny to go down and together with Palacky and Poloch who were waiting at C2 descended to ABC at 9 pm very exhausted. Pegrimek's high point was C1. He was with Chrzaszcz when he died at C1 presumably by heart attack on 18 May between 7-7:30 pm. Chrzaszcz's body was buried near C1 after consultation with his family. The team used a Tibetan porter named Lobsang till C2. Machovec and Uhlar did not go to Everest. They left Kathmandu on 11 April, same day as other members went to the border.
Accidents Chrzascz died on 18 May between 7-7:30 pm at C1
