| Route Notes | Barnes and Booker spent three nights at C2 (1-3 May), then descended to BC on 4 May. On their summit bid they started from BC on 18 May, but they had to turn around from below C1 due to snowstorm. Dunnahoo according to Booker went up to C2, in fact Dunnahoo was not climbing with Booker team. Dunnahoo on return stayed at Manaslu hotel and did not want to meet and talk about his climbing. Link left BC on 5 May for his business back home. Booker may come back for Everest in 2010. The expedition cook Kazi Lama Sherpa (1979-80 (2026), Taksindu-3, Solu) died at BC at about 8:45 am on 11 May of acute cardio-pulmonary disease with hypothermia, perhaps induced by alcohol poisoning (methanol tainted alcohol) at base camp. |
