Route Notes The expedition mounted one summit bid. At 0:15 on 20 May, six members left C4 for the top. Vermas reached 8200m, was very tired and turned back; he descended all the way to C1 that day. Pietilainen got to the Balcony at about 8400m, also became very tired, and retreated to C3. Four members summited: Myllys at 7:50 am, Inkinen at 8:00 am, Rahomaki at 8:30 am, and Leino at 9:00 am. All descended to C3 at 4:00 pm. Inkinen, Myllys and Rahomaki went down to BC on the 21st, while Leino stopped in C1 and joined them in BC the next day. Oxygen was used by Pietilainen from C3 to his high point to C3. Leino, Myllys and Vermas used it in C3 to their high points to C3. Inkinen and Rahomaki from the Yellow Band at about 7300m to their high points and down to C3. Other non-summiters: Karinen went to C2 on 29 April, returned to BC and stayed there during the remaining climbing period. Kemppainen got to C2 on 19 April, was very tired, and moved high only on 21 May, when he went to C2 to meet the descending summiters. Ohtonen climbed to C3 on 29 April, was too tired to continue climbing and retired to BC for the rest of the climb.
