| Route Notes | SummitClimb International Everest Expedition 2009, Samuli Mansikka - 1 June 2009 The summit party consisted of all six members and two Sherpas, Thile Nurbu and Tenji. They left C4 at 9:15 pm on 18 May. Maehl turned around at 8400m at 2:00 am on the 19th because he had a bad cough and wasn't feeling well; he descended to C2. The others continued on to the top: Sahney was the first of them to arrive there, at 10:40 am and Wagner was the last, at 10:55 am. They stayed in C4 that night and went to C2 on the 20th; all the summiters reached C2 at 3:00 pm except Mansikka, who had responsibilities for his Lhotse expedition as well this one and who joined them in C2 at 6:00 pm. All were in BC on the 21st. Oxygen was used by all the members in C3 to their high points to wherever between C4 and C2 their supplies ran out. The Sherpas used it from C3 to the top to various places between C4 & C2 as their supplies became exhausted. Sherpas: Tenji, 1/6/82, Patle, Okhaldhunga, Everest X4 Thile Nurbu, 26/5/74, Chaplung, Chaurikharka-3, Solu, Everest X3, Lhotse X1 |
