| Route Notes | BC at Khumbu Glacier C1 above the Khumbu Icefall C2 in Western Cwm C3 on Lhotse West Face C4 at South Col. Short and Mingma Temba left C4 at 9:30 pm of 21 May, reached summit at 6:30 am of 22 May, stayed on summit about an hour and descended to C4 at about 12 noon. Rested for about two hours then descended to C3 at about 5 pm, spent night there. Next day to BC. Weather on summit was great. While descending passed south summit it was cloudy and snowing all the way down to C3. On summit ahead of short team were between 20-30 climbers, behind them were may be more than 30 climbers. Short was so impressed by Mingma Temba's performance that he did climb up and down C3 to C4 in five hours with a load of six oxygen cyclinders. The team returned Kathmandu on 30 May. Short went to attend Buddhist course for ten days on 31 May and returned on 10 June. Short will go for rafting on 11 May and will return on 14 June. He will leave Kathmandu on 15 June.
