Route Notes Americans on Everest, led by Richard Morse - 2 June 2008 Summit push began from BC on 19 May, when Morse, Pemba and Nima climbed directly to C2. On the 20th, Morse and Nima went up to C3 while Kami and Mingma Dorje went to C2. On the 21st, Pemba, Kami and Mingma Dorje came up from C2 to C3, arriving at C3 at 6:30 am and at 2:00 pm the whole party reached C4. At 8:00 pm on the 21st Morse and Nima made a bid for the top. But at about 10:00 pm, Morse was too tired to go on, so they turned around and returned to C4 at 11:00 am on the 22nd. On 22 May, Morse and the four Sherpas left C4 at 8:00 pm and were on the summit at 5:50 am on 23 May. They were back in C4 at 11:00 am. On the 24th everyone went down to C2 and were in BC on the 25th. Morse used oxygen climbing to C4 on 21 May and sleeping in C4, then again from the South Summit to the top, to and in C4. Kami Sherpa started using it when he was climbing above C4, while the other Sherpas slept on it in C4, and the four Sherpas used it to the summit and back to but not in C4. Sutterlin, expedition doctor, never intended to try for the summit. He went to C2 on 24 April and spent two nights there, but spent most of his time in BC until he left the team on 20 May. Fixed rope: gave 800m for others to fix. Sherpas: Kami (aka Kame), 1962, Bagam, Kerung-4, Solu, Everest X7, Lhotse X1, Dhaula X1 Mingma Dorje, 17/7/79, Tapting, Solu, Everest X2 Nima Sherpa, 30/9/75, Tapting-1, Solu, Everest 14/6/07 Pemba Sherpa, Patle-4, Okhaldhunga, no 8000ers
