Route Notes Altarea Everest 2008, led by Daniel Petraud - 29 May 2008 The team of two members and two Sherpas started their push for the summit from BC on 17 May and went to C3. On the 19th they went to C3 and on the 20th they established C4 at the South Col. They left C4 for the top at 9:00 pm on the 20th, reached the Balcony at about midnight and were on the summit at 9:30 am on 21 May. They stayed on the summit for 45 minutes in very good weather: it was not cold and there was no wind. They returned to C4 at 4:30 pm. On the 22nd they were in C2, and on the 24th they descended from C2 to BC. Both members used oxygen climbing up from C3, to and in C4, to the summit, down to and in C4. Both Sherpas used it in C4 to top to and in C4 only.
