Route Notes Huisa and Pedro Lopez stayed at ABC for four nights. Huisa was not feeling well at ABC so they decided to rest there until he got better. On 1st May Huisa felt better and the two climbers started of towards C1. However Huisa started to feel bad again, so they returned to ABC where they went to see Dr. Monica Piris (doctor for Himex), who diagnosed Huisa with slight pulmonary edema. She told Huisa to rest and descend to BC as soon as possible. On 3rd May the two climbers descended to BC where they rested for three days. They left BC on 6th May and went to Shegar where they were going to rest, hoping that Huisa would recover there. They stayed another day in Shegar and returned to BC on 8 May. They stayed another 5 days and left BC on 13th May. Juan Huisa - 22 Dec 2007 (translation of email to Billi Bierling) Please find below the details for Huisa's expedition to the north side of Mount Everest in spring 2007: Arrived at BC 21st April 2007 (5300m) First night at ABC 26th April 2007 (6400m) Highest point 27th April 2007 (6900m) Both members of the expedition reached 6900m on 27th April, however, Huisa was not feeling well so they decided to descend back to ABC. On 28th April they descended to BC as neither of them was feeling well. They stayed at BC as Huisa was trying to recover from his pulmonary edema and Pedro had a kidney stone and was suffering from a lot of pain. Neither of them recovered, so they decided to abandon the expedition on 9th May. Expedition abandoned: 9th May Left BC: 11th May Members at end: 2 Oxygen: Taken, not used The two members arrived back in Kathmandu on 13th May and flew back to Spain on 15th May. As Huisa and Pedro are attempting to finish the Seven Summits they will probably come back to Everest in 2009. Huisa said that he needed a break from Everest, so that is why they are not coming back in 2008.
