| Route Notes | Int'l Everest (north) expedition led by Arnold Coster, Spring 2007 - 3 June 2007 (EVRCOST.S07) Team summited on 15, 16, 21 and 23 May. The first party of Baltutis, Maginelle, Tant, Vandewege, Jangbu and Banba Tseren (Tibetan), left C3 on 14 May at midnight (Chinese time) and summited on the 15th at 7:00-7:30 am (4:45-5:15 NST), and at 9:00 am (7:45 NST) by Tant and Jangbu. Tant, Jangbu and Banba Tseren descended to C3, Vandewege and Maginelle to C2, Baltutis to ABC. The second summit party of Adams, Barnett, Crampton, Hsu, plus Tibetans Yundan and Awang Dantzen, started from C3 on the 15th at 4:30 pm (CST) and all were on the top on the 16th at 8:00 am (5:45 NST) except for Hsu, who summited at 12:30 pm (10:15 NST); Hsu was very slow because he was not using oxygen and for other unspecified reasons. He stayed on summit for one and half hours taking pictures with his goggles off and so became snowblind; he had to be escorted down the mountain. All in this party went down to C3 only except for the two Tibetans, who went to C2. (There was a third Tibetan, Jangjiu, who left C3 with this party, but at the summit pyramid turned back because his fingers were freezing and went down to ABC). The third summit party of Findik, Kalayci, Vulk, and Tibetans Cheme Thashi and Tsering Dantar, left C3 at 11:00 pm on the 20th and were on the summit at 7:00 am (4:45 NST) of the 21st. All descended to ABC except Kalayci, who stopped in C1. The fourth and last summit party of Coster, his wife Maya Sherpa, Hoglin and Jangbu (again from ABC), left C3 at 11:30 pm of the 22nd, summited at 9:00 am (6:45 NST) of the 23rd and descended to C2. Oxygen use by members: First summit party: Tant frm C1 to top to C1; the two other Belgians from 7200m to top to C1. Second party: Crampton from 7650m to top to C2; other members from 7350m to top to C1. Third party: Vulk in C1 to top to C1; Findik and Kalayci from 7450m to top to C1. Fourth party: Hoglin from 7500m to top to C1; Coster and Maya Sherpa from C3 to top to about C1. By Sherpas and Tibetans from C2 to top to C3 except by Jangbu in his second ascent, when he used it down to C2. Health problems: Hsu got snowblindness Non-summiting Tibetan Jangjiu got frostbite on three fingers Non-summiting members: Davey got to North Col, turned around and left expedition on 25 April (homesick). Reisinger went reached 7300m. Sibley went to C2. Stuckey reached 5800m, learned his wife was pregnant and went home; left 12 Apr.
