| Route Notes | BC at CBC/IC on 15 at 5800m C1 at North Col. Jomolangma 2007 Expedition (French & Swiss) First group: Battu, Jouanny, Martine, Wolter, Zuberer, Dawa Sherpa, Man Bahadur Tamang (also know as Gopal) and Pasang Sherpa left top camp (8200m) at midnight of 17 May. The team members reached summit between 8 am to 9 am (NST) along with three Nepali climbers on 18 May. Wolter was the first and Martine was the last one to reach the summit. Zuberer climbed without oxygen. The summiteers stayed on summit 30 minutes and descended to top camp between 11 am to 2 pm. Weather was very good, clear and no wind. The team was the first one to reach summit from north side on that day. They met some people coming up from south side. Second group: Charrier, Mrs Charrier, Dufresne, Ferragu, Danuru and Mingmar Tshering Sherpa left top camp at 11 pm on 18 May. Charrier reached summit at 8:15 am on 19 May and Dufresne at 8:45 am along with Danuru. They stayed on summit about 30 minutes and descended to top camp at 12:15 pm. Ahead of them were 5-6 people from north side and 2 people from south side. Very good weather but little windy at the beginning in the night. Mrs Charrier and Ferragu had to turn back from 8600m with Mingmar Tshering Sherpa. Ferragu just did not like to climb further. There was not any other particular reason. Mrs. Charrier accompanied Ferragu to top camp. Kanchha Nurbu Sherpa climbed up to C2. Oxygen used: All summiters used from C2 to summit and to C2 except Zuberer who climbed without oxygen. Mrs. Charrier and Ferragu from C2 to 8600m back to C2. Sherpas used from top camp to summit and back to C3. The expedition team returned to Kathmandu on 25 May and will leave on 28 May. Sherpa summiters: Dawa Sherpa, 1970, Tamakhani, Solu, Everest X4 Dawa Nurbu/Danuru Sherpa, 22/11/76, Kharikhola, Everest X6 Man Bahadur Tamang (Gopal), 1959, Jaidu, Salleri-5, Everest X4, Cho Oyu X1 Pasang, 18/5/76, Thamakhani-7, Solu, Everest X1 Everest: Summit Alexia Zuberer respiratory assistance Google Translation from French website (www.sportweek.fr) The Alexia Zuberer Swiss mountaineer reached the summit of Everest (8848m) for the second time. It has still not been able to do without oxygen, as she hoped. Zuberer Alexia, who had already conquered Everest (8848m) in 2003, has once again reached the summit, Friday May 18. It has unfortunately not been able to do without oxygen, his original draft. "I expect the team to be returned to Complete Base Camp Advanced to announce the good news," said the Swiss climber. This is an experience "happy". At 9, we have 7 members at the top. In To me, my attempt without oxygen was increased to 8400m. After this was very, very hard to endure the cold, but I had planned a Sherpa with a bottle of oxygen, have a history of angel guard at my side, so I took the bottle and finished at the top. The same day I was with Pascal Jouanny, Yves Martin, Philippe Battu and Pierre-Olivier Wolter. It was a beautiful day and a good mountain time." The first members of the group have set foot on the roof of the world, between 8 am and 9 am in the morning (local time), in perfect conditions, with winds exceptionally low (around 10 km/h) and temperature very smooth for such an altitude (-23C). A complete success by the success, the next day, two other members of the team, and Denis Charrier and Olivier Dufresne. Sylvie Ferragu and Isabelle Charrier-Rebuffet have themselves had to give up 8600m. Alexia is currently not become the third woman in the world to achieve the feat of climbing Everest without oxygen, after the New Zelandaise Lydia Bradey, in 1988, and the Englishwoman Alison Hargreaves in 1995. |
