Route Notes Ossa left C3 at 10:30 pm on 22 May with Gonzalez. Just before 2nd Step Gonzalez had very cold feet (neither him nor Ossa were using oxygen) and turned back at 8600m at 3 am. He descended to BC, arrived at 8:30 pm. Ossa spent one hour on summit and descended to ABC after summit, arrived at 5:30 pm. 24 May summit team left C3 at 10 pm on 23 May. Weather was calm and clear. They spent about 1 hour on summit. Nawang and Giraldo descended to ABC, arrived at 8:30 pm; Guzman and Bernal descended to C1, arrived at 5:30 pm. Ruiz, Jyamchang and Dorje descended to C2, arrived at 3 pm. Avila reached 7700m on 21 May. He left C2 in the morning, but after 100m on fixed rope his Jumar froze. He gave up and descended to ABC. Barrio reached 7700m on 21 May. His back was hurting, so he descended to ABC. Lozada reached 7400m on 17 May. He was on way to C2, but turned back due to problems with the lungs, possible pulmonary edema, and descended to BC. Gonzalez frostbite is not too serious. He will not lose his toe.
