Route Notes This team's Sherpas fixed Icefall, not Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee and finished the job on 8 Sept, the day before team arrived and that enabled team to go for very good wind on 18th Oct. On summit day Sherpas Pemba Dorje, Pasang Tenzing, Da Nuru and Dawa Tshering had left C4 at 11:30 pm to fix rpe and break trail. Summit party left C4 1:45 am members (11:30 pm of 17th by 4 Sherpas), on top 10:00 to 10:54 am (10:00 am summiters stayed on top till others arrived). Weather good including mild wind. Kit DesLouriers, Chin and Rob DesLauriers skied from summit to Hillary Step and then down fixed lines with skis on but not using them or even taking skis off (Kit) and stayed at C4 that night (Chin and Rob DesLauriers) last 300 ft to C4. 19th three skiers skied from C4 to top of Icefall, only 5000 ft descent down Lhotse Face to left side of Geneva Spur; return to C4 by Kit 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm (Hahn). Skiers on 19th did Lhotse Face in 1-1/2 hours and after lunch at C2 in bad weather weather in BC 6:00 pm; on 19th Brown and Sherpas summiters slept in C2 and 20th to BC. Sherpa summiters: Da Nuru, 19/5/59, Phortse, Everest X4, Cho Oyu X3, Makalu X1 Da Sonam, 1965, Pangboche, Everest X5 Dawa Tshering, 24 years old, Khunde, Kangchenjunga X1 Kami Sherpa, 31/3/78, Jantarkhani, Everest X4 Mingma Ongel, 27/3/78, Phortse, Everest X3 Lhakpa Chhiri, 17/11/74, Pangboche, Everest X3, K2 X1 Lhakpa Gelje, 25/1/72, Tapting, Everest X2 Pemba Dorje, 1961, Pangboche, Everest X4, Cho Oyu X2 Pasang Tenzing, 21/1/78, Everest X5, Cho Oyu X1 Non-summiting members: Boni reached C3 3 Oct immediately down to C3 and left expedition 8 Oct. Berg to C2 once, led team from BC. Oxygen: Mingma Ongel slept in C3 and in C4 to top and in C4, and other Sherpas in C4 to top and in C4; members slept on it in C3 to top to and in C4 to C3 except Hahn, who stopped at C4. All of team's 13 Sherpas were still at BC waiting for Koreans to finish and then clear icefall ropes and ladders.
