| Route Notes | BC at CBC ABC at usual campsite C1 at North Col C2 at usual campsite. Stangl left ABC (approx 6500m) at 17:00 hours on May 24, reached the summit at 09:42 hours on May 25, stayed on summit about three minutes and descended to ABC at 16:30 hours. Ecuadorian climber Patricio Crausaz was on the summit who took summit picture of Stangl. There were other two or three people on the summit. Stangl saw 3 or 4 oxygen cylinders (orange and blue colours) on the summit. Weather was good but cold and little windy in the afternoon. The summit was clear. While descending at about 8300m Stangl realized that his toe was swollen. On May 15 he used one of the tents at 7880m in which there was a sleeping bag, a mattress and some empty glas cylinders but no stove or pots. No idea about the owner of the tent. Stangl returned to Kathmandu on May 29 and will leave on June 1. |
