Route Notes BC at Khumbu Glacier. Oracion and Pemba Chhoti Sherpa left C4 at 22:00 hours on May 16, summited at 15:30 hours of 17th, stayed on summit for 30 minutes, descended to C4 at 22:00 hours. When they started it was windy and snowfalling but when they got up higher it was quiet and no snowfall. Ahead of the team were British, Swiss and others. Pemba was among the first one to lead on the final stretch to summit. On 17th Emata and Lakpa Gyalzen Sherpa started from C4 at 21:20 hours. Reached summit at 05:20 hours on the 18th, stayed on summit for 30 minutes, descended to C4 at 09:45 hours, rested for about 3 hours, then went down to C2 together with Oracion and Sherpas. It was very windy. The 18th summit day weather was very good. Emata team met summiters from north side. Behind Emata were Spanish and Korean teams who came to summit from south side. The expedition returned to Kathmandu on May 25 and leave the country on 29. The expedition leader said that the Philippine National expedition is planning to send a bigger expedition to Everest in 2007 which will include at least 3 women members.
