| Route Notes | The team reached to ABC on Sept 14 and on 17th both Michalski's walked up to 6700m and went down to CBC. On Sept 24, Damai Chhiri and Pemba Sherpa were setting the fixed rope to C1 and trying to put up C1 in North Col. Just below 20m from the North Col, the soft snow broke up and swept Damai about 200-250m and Pemba too was taken down about 50m. Pemba managed to pull up Damai and brought him down to CBC on yak. At the CBC Damai was unstable and vomiting with blood. The doctor of the Lakpa Ri expedition checked Damai and suspected broken ribs. Two members brought Damai to KTM on a jeep on Sept 25-26. When I met Pawel Michalski on Oct 2, he told me that Damai is recovering and no ribs were broken. The Michalski's are planning to return to Everest in the spring. |
