Route Notes C1 at top of Icefall C2 at West Cwm C3 at Lhotse Face C4 at South Col. C4 reached by Goh and Siew, Ang Chhiring [from other Singapore team] and Pemba Dorje 30th May. Winds too strong and tent poles broken (wind 100-120 km/hr) so abandoned summit push. Down on 31st because of weather forecast said continued "strong winds." Goh and Karma Rita Sherpa [also from other Singapore team] went to C2; Siew and Pemba Dorje left C4 9:00 pm 31st May; got to 8100m then too cold and windy and back to C4; next day to C2. Goh used no oxygen, Pemba Dorje used it from C4 up and back to C4 - without oxygen its very cold. Lim left expedition on 30 May because his wife, Lim Nguk-Hoon, doctor for other Singapore Everest team (led by Khong Lean Ee) had to return to her work in Wales. In any case he was not acclimatizing at C3. Shared base camp facilities and 8 Sherpas above BC with National University of Singapore expedition (pro-rated 1 to this team and 7 to university team).
