| Route Notes | BC at CBC/IC on 25th at 5800m. On May 21 at 00:30 hours NST Arias, Sunyer, Lhakpa Gyalzen and Mingma Thunde Sherpa left C3 for summit. When they reached at 8600m Arias Sunyer's feet got cold and strong wind started that made them return to C3. Rested at C3 about 3 hours then descended to ABC. Arias Sunyer got frostbite while he was on Dhaulagiri I in May 2004. The team was the first one to try summit on 21st. While descending Arias Sunyer's ankle sprained at about 8000m from there all the way down he was dragging on his one feet until C1. The team met other climbers coming up while descending. From C1 to ABC he was wrapped in a plastic sheet and pulled down by the Sherpas. His ankle is now well bandaged. The team returned to KTM on May 24 and leaves on 29. Carbonell Girbau went up to 7000m on May 02; got muscle cramped leg and had to give up the climb. Torrents Barrachina started from C1 on 20th to catch up other member at C3; at 8000m had to return due to bad weather. Member Vidal Tarruella went up to 7600m on 15 May; bad weather forced her to return to ABC. |
