Route Notes Email from Billi Bierling - 16 June 2005 Goeschl went up from 7600m on 31 May and stayed the next night at 7850m in another empty tent as he couldn't go on due to the weather. Goeschl left C2 (7850m) at 5 am. He was on his own and climbed without his Sherpa, Nima Gyalgen from Gauri Shankar. They had an argument at ABC and Goeschl dismissed him (his reasons were that Nima wanted more money and said he did not want to climb to the summit with Goeschl as he wanted to go with Ganesh from India, who had apparently offered him more money). On his way up Goesch did not meet anybody and he was on his own on the summit (he has pictures to prove it). He put a potato on the summit. Hans Goger from Austria, who summited a day later, saw it. Goeschl stayed on the summit for 10 minutes and descended to C3, where he arrived at 10 pm. He met Gheorghe Dijmarescu, who gave him a tent to sleep in. Goeschl was very dehydrated when he got to C3 and he could not boil any water as he did not have a lighter so he did not drink anything all night. He also felt mentally qiute exhausted. The next day he descended down to ABC, where he arrived at 10 pm. On his way he stopped at 8100m where he had two cups of tea with the Brazilian team. He met Dijmarescu again at 7900m. Dijmarescu was on his way down from the summit. He was with his wife Lakpa and his Sherpa. Goeschl was still very exhausted when he arrived at ABC on 2nd June and the doctor of the Indian army team gave him some cortisone and told him, he should take some oxygen but Goeschl refused as he did not want to lose his "without oxygen" title.
