Route Notes Marnie Pearsall: BC(03/04),ABC(08/04),C1(26/04,7050m),xxx(26/04,7150m) Abandoned at 7150m due to sickness Left BC 09/05 No Sherpas above BC On 26 April Pearsall went up from C1 entirely alone to find how high she could go because had giardia and chest infection and down to ABC same day. Now got sickness with cough very bad. Nelson Snyder: BC(04/04,5200m),ABC(09/04,6400m),xxx(09/04,6400m) Abandoned at 6400m due to high altitude sickness Left BC 12/04 No Sherpas above BC Snyder's goal was to climb Everest without oxygen and medicines (Diamox, etc). But, while climbing to BC headache started; it became severe while climbing to ABC. Gradually pain shifted to middle of his spinal cord and he started losing vision. Dr. Pearsall (another member of the collection) put Snyder on oxygen and she might had given Diamox shot. Next day, April 10, Snyder felt good and he decided to give up climbing as his goal of climbing Everest without oxygen and medicines was already vanished. Descended to CBC with other two trekkers and had no problem. Snyder is feeling better and normal. He think, if he made slow pace for acclimatization that may have been Ok. Snyder said he had sold his house and left job to come to Everest. He will leave Nepal on April 10. Vincent Waters: BC(04/04,5200m),ABC(09/04,6350m),C1(17/04,7000m),C2(29/04,7500m),xxx(30/04,7700m) Abandoned at 7700m (did not intend to try for summit due to retinal hemorrhage) Left BC 27/05 No Sherpas above BC Despite doctor's advice Water's went up to 7700m, but not for summit attempt. Waters returned to KTM on May 27 and will leave for Delhi on June 9.
