Route Notes ABC all team C1 all team C2 all without Rzasa C3 went down to C2 with staying in C3. First Norwegian woman to climb Everest. Ms Skaug started from C3 on 19:05 Chinese time (9:45 pm NST) on 20 May, summited at 1 pm (10:45 am NST), stayed a 30 minutes. No View. Korean climber Kim was at the summit at the same time, she summited later than Skaug. Summited with 2 Sherpas, came down down to C3 at 7 pm. Firth reached 8300m on the 17th, 11:45 am. Evensen reached 8500m on the 17th, 11:45 am and then abandoned due to bad weather and malfunctioning of British oxygen system. Rzasa left BC on 19th, went to C1 and that was enough for him. Paul Firth (email) - 15 June 2007 Corrections and additions: We had an additional Sherpa (Pasang Riana Sherpa was his full name I think and I think he had previously summitted Everest, so the correct name should be in your database). He climbed with us to C3 at 8300m (or just above the Exit Cracks on to the summit ridge actually) when we turned around because our camp was not set at C3 as a fall-back reserve. He returned to ABC with Truls and me, and then climbed with us on our second attempt, going up to retrieve the gear from 8300m. We abandoned our second attempt as we ran out of time on our permit; to save money we had gone on a group permit with other groups who had set an earlier departure date. Injuries on our trip: Paul Firth, superficial frostbite to toes (recovered) Randi Skaug, retinal hemorrhage (partial recovery) Peter Rsaza abandoned his attempts after reaching 7000m bacause he developed high altitude hack (persistent cough), because he had had chronic diarrhea and because he reckoned he had had enough, and done enough. Our cook boy/assistant cook Densa Bhote also climbed to 7900m although not as an official porter/Sherpa; just a cook boy. I am not sure what his full name is; Tsering will know. From Tsering Palden Bhote: We used Poisk oxygen to summit from 7900m.
