| Route Notes | BC at CBC, Int Camp on April 8 at 5800m C1 at North Col C2 at usual campsite. Started for summit bid from ABC on May 19. Slept in C1. Next day weather was bad wind and snow, spent night. On 21st Sanz tried to reach C2 but had to retreat due to bad weather to ABC. "No Sherpa - no oxygen - no summit." Sanz said. About the missing Bulgarian woman Maslarova, Sanz said he saw from his tent on the morning of May 20, Maslarova and her Sherpa preparing to go up. The Sherpa told her to use oxygen as she was very slow. She told her Sherpa that she will not use oxygen from low altitude because she wants to use it for summit day only. Sanz also said that Alex, leader of Russian Everest 1000 Expedition, told him that he had talked to Maslarova probably on 24th (Sanz does not remember the date) in North Col - she was in her tent. Sanz did not keep note book - all his information are by his memory. Sanz leaves on June 6. |
