Route Notes BC (Intermediate Camp on 9th at about 5900m) ABC at North Col. May 21: Abuhaider, Harrod and Madew set off around 01:30 hours (NST) from C3. At around 08:30 hours an American (Jay White) slipped and fell pulling on the fixed rope. He in turn pulled off his Sherpa who finally pulled on Harrod (Conan) who fell breaking his left lower leg at 8500m. Harrods leg was splinted with an ice axe. Madew pulled out Harrod helped by a Sherpa. Knowing this over radio Abuhaidar abandoned his climb at 8600m and came down and helped Madew to evacuate Harrod. Harrod had to crawl and hop over 2 km. While Madew and Abuhaidar lifted the injured limb over the rocky terrain at over 8000m and arrived C3 8200m after 10 hours. On same night (21st) Madew realized that his fingers on both hands got frostbite. Russell Brice gave oxygen and advice for evacuation work, Chinese team gave 3 Sherpas to help 2 Sherpas of the expedition. From C2 Royal Navy (UK) members help to bring down Madew and Harrod. Brice also provided two Sherpas and three more Sherpas from Adventure Peaks. Harrod spent night at 7000m. Then to ABC to BC on 23rd -> CBC on 24th. Evacuated by road to KTM B & B Hospital on 25th.
