Route Notes May 21 Baker and three Sherpas [left camp] about 07:00 hours, reached South Col around 17:00 hours exhausted; ate/rested for an hour. About 22:30 hours started for summit where all four reached at 10:15 hours of 22nd. Descended to South Col where all spent night. Next day to C2. Before them were Army expedition - Ang Chhiring and after Baker team there were about 8 people. Baker saw people coming up from north side. There were about 20 people on summit. The expedition returned to KTM on May 28. Departure date not fixed. Note: Baker made deep dive of 250m before he came to Nepal. He wondered if it mattered "Deepest and highest" sort of record? He is very much enthusiastic to help Sherpa community. He is highly impressed by the Sherpa community. Wants to do something substantial especially for Kami. He is thinking to go north side probably next year. Nima Tashi Sherpa, 1960, Pangboche, Khumjung VDC-7, Solukhumbu Everest South: 1988,90,93,97,98,99,02 Ama Dablam: Six times.
