| Route Notes | C4 at South Col. May 15: Miss Pemba and Lhakpa started from C4 at 22:00 hours. Summited on 16th at 09:10 hours and stayed about 20-25 minutes. Returned to South Col at about 12:30 hours (about 3 hours from summit to C4). Descended to BC on 17th. At the time of summit there were 5 or 6 people on summit including Appa and Tashi. 1) Oxygen: Miss Pemba used oxygen from yellow band (about 7800m), little oxygen for sleep at C4. Summit day, from C4 to summit then to C4. Lhakpa Tshering used oxygen on summit day from C4 to summit and to C4. 2) First Nepalese woman and only fourth woman from any nation to scale Everest twice. Miss Pemba Doma said she can fluently speak eight different languages (Sherpa, Nepali, Tibetan, Hindi, English, German, Italian and French) and currently learning Spanish. |
