Route Notes Sherpas left KTM 6 April, Baumann 13 April C1 at North Col C2 at 7000m below Kobler team camp xxx at C3 site by "Sherpas" xxx just above C2 by Baumann. Baumann went to North Col on about 2 May but did not sleep there, down to ABC, developed toothache and took medicine for toothache. Then bad weather with strong wind till 12 May. Sherpas made C3 at 8300m 13 May. Now came period of good weather but Baumann not strong because of medication taken for toothache and needed more rest. Finally Baumann started from ABC for top on 21st with Santa [Gurung] and Nima [Tamang] and slept in North Col that night. 22nd slept in C2. 23rd reached 7800m or above and Baumann problem with big O2 mask and down to C2 to sleep. 24 May down to North Col because Baumann said very tired. "Sherpas" go up to bring down C3 but Baumann said very tired. 25 May to ABC and Baumann climbing finished. Sherpas wanted to go down with him to get him to BC. Baumann used oxygen from C3 on 23 May for 2 hours, then mask, which was too big and prevented him seeing well, gave such a problem. He stopped using it and stopped climbing upwards.
