| Route Notes | High point above North Col. May 16 Bolotov and Borissov started from C4 at 04:30 hours Chinese time. Bolotov reached summit at 15:30 (13:15 NST) hours, stayed about 50 minutes and returned to C4 at 20:30 (without oxygen). Borissov summited at 16:00 hours (13:45 NST), spent about 20 minutes, returned to C4 at 20:00 hours. Weather was good in the morning, evening was foggy and windy. Other expeditions on summit were Swiss team, Kobler's members, British; did not see anybody coming from the South. May 18 Ermatchek, Kirievsky, Povolotski and Rogozin started from C4 at 03:00 hours. All four summited at 12:00 hours (09:45 NST), spent about half an hour (exact timing - no idea). Three members arrived to C4 at 16:00 hours; Povolotski returned to C4 at 17:00 hours. Bolotov will try Everest central face of north side next spring with Victor Kazlov. |
