| Route Notes | C1 at North Col C2 on North Ridge High point slightly above C2. Kossart started with Ferris's C1 for summit push but turned around at 7600m flu/respiratory infection so back to C1 while Ferris continued up. Ferris to C2 on 21 May and slept there, found oxygen had been stolen, so did not try to continue but turned back on 22nd and returned to ABC and climb finished. One climbing Sherpa Phurba Tshering (EvX2) got to 7800m and had to leave expedition with bleeding ulcers; cook left on 3rd day BC with bad pulmonary edema. Ferris and Karis got bad flu, bronchitis and had to go to Tingri to recover which delayed progress on mountain. Climbed abandoned because of bad health, stolen oxygen and time to mount new attempt would have been in bad weather. |
