Route Notes Kastner and Perlia spent night in C1 on May 19. The expedition put up C2 at two different altitudes: At 7600m, Fasching, Fritsche, E. Gatt and S. Gatt and spent the night. At C2 7700m Kastner and Perlia spent the night. May 21: Fritsche, S. Gatt, Kastner and Perlia spent night at C3. May 22: Summit Bid - from C3 - Chinese Time Perlia left the camp at about 04:00 hours. Summit at 13:00 CST (10:45 NST); returned to C2 at about 21:00 hours. Oxygen used from C3 to summit. No idea how far he used the oxygen while descending. Fritsche and S. Gatt left the camp at 06:45 hours. Fritsche summited at 15:00 hours (12:45 NST). Spent half-hour on top. While descending he met S. Gatt at midway of summit ridge and went up again with him to summit - reached at 15:45 hours. Fritsche returned to C3 at about 20:30 hours. S. Gatt spent about half-hour; returned to C3 at about 21:00 hours. S. Gatt descended with snowboard from 8848m to 8630m and 7600m to 6500m. Both spent night at C3. Both Fritsche and S. Gatt all the way without oxygen. Kastner left C3 at 03:00 hours for summit. He had to return from 8400m as he lost his glove. He went down to C2. May 23: Streif left C3 at 01:30 hours. Summit at 10:30 (8:15 NST) Nawang Wanchu Sherpa; spent about 30 minutes. Both returned to ABC about 18:00 hours. They used oxygen in C3 for sleeping and to the top and on descent, until the bottles were empty little below of C3. Fasching and E. Gatt left C3 at 04:00 hours. Summit at 13:00 (10:45 NST); spent about 50 minutes. Returned to C2 at 21:30 at 7900m and on 22nd at 8200m. Used oxygen for climbing from 8200m to summit and back again. They were together all the time. - Einwaller left the group on May 20 due to health problems. - Hofer left on 11th because of bad motivation; arrived at BC same day. - Roland Maruna returned together with Dr. Steinbock from 7300m on 21st because of beginning of frostbite. - Weitlaner returned from 8200m (C3) because of misunderstanding with a Sherpa, who told him that there would be a tent at 7900m - which not correct. - Eder left the expedition on April 20 due to a bad influenza. - Daniels left the expedition on May 6 due to pain in liver area and bad condition. - The team returned to KTM on May 30 and leaving on 31.
