Route Notes In summit party push, Temba started from C2 on 21 May and left C2 for C3 on 22nd. Left C3 for top at 00:30 hours NST on 23rd, arrived at top at 7:00 am and back to ABC at 5:00 pm on 23rd. Oxygen used by Temba during summit push from 7900m to C3, sporadically while sleeping in C3, all the time up from C3 to top and down to C2. Temba started from C3 on 23 May 00:30 NST hours, a bit earlier than Mingote and Thilen Sherpa (Spanish team). He reached the summit at 7 am of the same day. He spent 10 minutes on the top. His brother Mingma went up to the North Col to receive Temba. They came down to ABC at 5 pm 23 May where they spent the night. Temba was tired and weak while coming down to ABC. Temba had a great feeling when he reached the summit. He is very happy theat he could break the record to youngest person atop Everest. He was a bit scared when he saw 3 dead bodies at 2nd Step. He had no water to drink on the way to the summit. He felt cold at the last camp. He could not fix harness properly because he had problem with his fingers and it was too cold. On 22nd of May, he had to sleep alone at C2 where he took ready-made food. He did not sleep well there. As mentioned in an article published in the Kathmandu Post of June 1, 2001 Lhakpa - a lady climber from International clearing team, gave him oxygen but as mentioned by Temba, this was not true. Temba says, Thilen was the only person from other team who helped him during his climb. Temba has not any plan to climb other mountains at this moment rather he will continue his study. However, he can change his mind if he gets good chance.
Accidents Temba had vomiting at ABC because he was allergic of Horlicks (his eyes got red at ABC but got rid of it soon)
