Route Notes Had extra camp at 7500m (as did Brice) because too great distance between 7000m and 7900m. Zaharias, Cook, Laursen, Robatham, Chuwang Nima and Nima Nuru Sherpas left C4 2:00 am on 25th and Laursen and 2 Sherpas summited at 11:00 am and back to C4. Zaharias and Cook turned around at 8750m because little late (2:00-3:00 pm) and snow started blowing covering track. Zaharias got tangled up in old ropes at bottom of 2nd Step, hanging upside down, but Cook joined him 15 minutes later and helped him out of his fix. Robatham turned around at 8600m [8450m at 1st Step] because going too slow. 28th May summit bid by Bylart, Whetu, Killip and Grose got to 8500m, but Bylart got cerebral edema and all retreated to C4. [28th May summit bid by Donaldson, Hackett and McCallum aborted at 8100m between C3 and C4 due to incoming storm.] All members except Johnson, McMaster [and Lambert] got at least to C4 [C3?].
