Route Notes 23 May left South Col 9:00 pm by Feagin, Ochoa and 6 Sherpas. Nancy and Sherpas on top 6:49 pm together, Ochoa later. Returned to South Col at 10:28 am by Nancy and 4 Sherpas and 11:24 am by Kile and Lama Jangbu. Webster 2 nights at South Col in support of team. All down (except Webster and Ochoa) to C2 to sleep. Webster sent 2 Sherpas up ahead of team to break trail above Col to South Summit to prevent large number of climbers going up same day as his team. All other teams used this trail (they were Lhakpa Gelu/Ang Gelu and Mingma Tshering). Ochoa sporadically from C4 to top. Oxygen: Webster in and above C3 to C4 but used little at C4 Nancy Feagin in and above C3, in and above C4 to top and down to C3, way down to C2 Also by Sherpa summiters Sherpa Summiters: Kile, Chaurikharka, 35 years, 1st 8000er, O2 from C4 to top to C4 Dawa Nurbu (aka Danuru), Kharikhola, Everest X2, O2 from C4 to top to C4 Lhakpa Gelu, Kharikhola/Buptsa, Everest X7 Mingma Tshering, Beding, Everest X6, K2, Cho Oyu Dorje, Phakding, Everest X5, O2 oxygen from C4 to top to C4 Re: Inaki Ochoa Petra Watts, Lhotse Leader - 1/6/01: Ochoa was on Webster's team. He climbed to C3 with Watts Lhotse team and then attended to Webster's smaller Everst team. When he saw there obviously no time for him to summit both Lhotse and Everest because of the long period of bad weather, he chose to summit Everest and did so.
Accidents Feagin serious pulmonary edema (went down to Namche Bazar and Khunde Hospital, returned to BC about 10 May completely recovered)
