Route Notes C1 at North Col High point on North Ridge. 5th Oct first summit bid and stop on North Ridge below 2nd Step at about 8500m; stopped because very cold and no fixed rope at this very difficult part where crevasses and slipping on thin snow cover. Slept in C4 and down on 6 Oct (Bae, Shin, Dawa Tili). 8 Oct 2nd attempt stopped below First Step on face, no footsteps and no Sherpas with them and very cold and dark at 2:00 pm NST so couldn't find route and slept in ABC that night (Shin and Ha). Sherpas very tired. Strong wind destroyed tent at C3 twice. Chang wants to come to Everest again next spring (agent not decided, but stays at Villa Everest).
