Route Notes C1 at North Col C2 at lowest spring High point at bottom of 2nd Step. C2 not so high as others because planned to go for summit attempt from ABC to C2 and so on 14 May went to C3 and 15 May Inaki and Russians left at same time (he went to climb with them because they were on oxygen and could make trail), but he had underestimated difficulty of route just below First Step where new snow on rocks and no fixed ropes. Inaki decided to go back; down at 5:00 am to ABC same morning. 20 May again at 3:30 am from C3 with Aquerreta (Inaki had gone on 19 May from ABC to C3) but Aquerreta had left at 11:00 pm on 19th with many others). Inaki reached others, but before Second Step at 4:30 am when Antonio and many others who had stopped at 3:30 am and later because terrible wind which got worse and they waited one hour or more not knowing what to do. Inaki to First Step only and knew he must retreat to stay alive - both down to ABC. Decided to stop 27th May after other members went to C2 hoping to summit, but winds made them to retreat.
Accidents Aquerreta broke rib coughing on 20 May; Lete 16 May had cerebral accident
