Route Notes C1 at North Col. Skripko spent 5 days at C3 from 28 May until he went down because of fresh snowfall, wind, trail covered by snow, so when he alone tried to make new trail on 30 May, he reached 8050m only when alone and down to 7000m on 1 June and decided climb finished. 26 May Volodine alone arrived to C4 and slept till left camp for summit at 4:00 am on 28 May in little windy and cloudy weather, but could follow trail already there from 2 climbers the day before and no serious problems. On top (10:00 am, Chinese time or 7:45 NST) and down to North Col that night. All members reached 7900m or higher (including Mrs Abramova). Korchunov had attempted summit in May '99 on Skripko's expedition, lost his mind at or on top of 2nd Step, thought he had summited but no one believe this claim. This spring he came back again, but did not want to sleep at 7900m more than one night and bad weather prevented him from climbing higher.
Accidents Abramova stomach and lungs problems and left 22 May
