| Route Notes | BC at normal spots C1 at normal spots C2 at normal spots C3 at normal spots High point "in couloir" below South Summit. They woke up early and began walking at 12:00 am. The route was very steep the whole way 35 to 50 degree slopes, after 11:00 pm the wind picked up to 30 miles per hour and clouds moved in. Three members reached high camp: Jacob Salvado, Jaume Carrosset and Xavier Aymar. Salvado reached 8600m and said he "had enough." Jaume Carrosset reached 8200m and turned back also. Juan Borreguero stayed only at base camp. Team climbed a couloir on the right side of the South Pillar. |
