Route Notes BC at Kaphe Khola near point 4100m on Dhaulagiri Himal map. Originally tried SW Face and then shifted to SW Ridge because of threatening weather that meant great avalanche danger on face. Very safe route, less challenging than expected, but very long route. Shrestha, Tourism - 24 Oct 83 Canada Dhaulagiri VI 1. Daniel George Griffith, 1950, mountain guide 2. Leader Albert Sole 3. Robert George Rohn, 1958 4. Peter Carter From SW Face reached top at 1:00 pm and stayed 1 hour. Started at 8:00 am from unspecified camp - at 6:00 pm back in camp. No further attempts and will leave BC 20 Oct. All well.
Accidents Only problem was Down's recurrence of old symptoms from road accident before coming to Nepal
