Route Notes BC near point 3770m on Dhaulagiri map ABC west of point 3770m and east of north-south ridge C1 on South Face C2 on South Face High point on South Face. C1 on snow and ice face and many crevasses. BC to ABC also many crevasses and many icefalls and strong wind and frequent snowfall. C1 to C2 difficult climbing on snow and ice face; many crevasses above C2 and very difficult ice face. Route and face different from 1986 when not nearly so many crevasses. Wanted to place C3 at 6700m but could not go higher than 6300m because still more crevasses, snowfall everyday and icefalls.
