| Route Notes | BC at normal site C1 at NE Col C2 on NE Ridge. 29th bid made to reach summit so returned to C3 because "not good weather" (heavy snowfall) and same party tried again on 30th despite snow on mountain above knees. Left C3 at 4:00 am and on top 2:30 pm, slow because of deep snow; back in C3 5:00 pm. This only summit attack; no more because of snowfall (there were no flags at summit - which is as it should be). Sherpa summiters: Man Bahadur Gurung, 32, Sitalpati VDC, Sankhuwasabha, Dhaula summit in Sept 1994 Tul Bahadur Tamang, 32, Deusa, VDC, 1st 8000er Pasang Gyalzen Sherpa, 34, Makalu VDC, Sankhuwasabha, 1st 8000er |
