Route Notes C1 at NE Col C2 at NE Ridge below big stable serac High point C2. Icefall was difficult, a complicated icefall; much rock falling from "Eiger" at first. This team was first to open route in icefall and fixed 200m rope here (and Japanese Sherpas fixed more behind Spaniards). Never went above C2 because of bad weather with new snowfall. Stayed 8 days at C1 waiting for good weather but it did not come, so decided to abandon climb since had not time to stay away from work in Spain. Garrido and Soria to C2 on 28th to clear camps.
