| Route Notes | BC at Italian basecamp 19 April (3500m). Had made a deal with Korean Expedition to leave the tent for them at C4 but did not reach C4. Had planned to attempt the summit on 6 May, but there was too much snow and danger of avalanche and returned to C2. Wanted to try again and reached C3 on 12 May again. In the meantime had gone to BC to rest. On 12 May discovered everything was blown by the wind. Had taken with them another tent but was not able to pitch it because of the wind. Then descended to BC. The bad weather continued (at French Pass wanted to rest and make camp). The weather (deep snow) was very bad. After 2nd attempt on 12 May waited for 3 days for weather to clear but it didn't. Arrived at C3 on May 6 with Australians who pitched one tent. |
