Route Notes Georges was first to arrive at BC (Koreans 1 day later) and spent one month at Dhaulagiri. No camps above BC. Tried for top twice and twice snowfall; then made depot but on third bid depot was gone; borrowed things from Koreans team and on 4th May in evening (500pm) started up from BC & reached top 12:05 on 5th; Koreans coming down and others in BC. Koreans left tent at 7100m but but not used by Georges; rested an hour at 5:00 am but otherwise kept moving up - reached BC at 6:00 pm after skiing from 6600m up to BC. 4500m BC to top in 20 hrs; from 6600m up ridge aleady fixed with old ropes to 7200m; in descent traversed 200-300m below ridge, a faster line than ridge. Necessary to climb this mountain carefully most of route (Annapurna not so difficult as Dhaulagiri).
