Route Notes BC at normal site C1 at Col C2 at NE Ridge. On 6th Oct, summit reached first by Hashimoto team, next by Kondo team & third & last by this team, whose summiters reached top 3:30 pm. Tawaraya very slow in descent at 7500m at top end of fixed rope. Tawaraya thought they not on right route & went up while Gurung, also very tired, went down to C3 at 10 pm but leader disappeared. Members searched N Face thoroughly by telescope & binoculars. 7th Oct Gurung up to 7500m but no sign of Tawaraya; Hayashi of Snow Leopards went with Gurung. Tawaraya must have fallen down N Face. Tawaraya so tired when going up from C2 that he borrowed oxygen from Hashimoto team & used it sleeping in C3 on 5th Oct night (but not on 6th in climb to top). 3rd summit team up from C2 to C3 on 10th Oct. 12th Oct Echigoya tried for top but retreated from wind after 30 mins. Kobayashi had set out in 2nd summit team but turned back because very tired.
Accidents Tawamaya's fatal fall; Gurung frostbitten toes that will heal
