Route Notes BC 31/08 4600m C1 04/09 5800m C2 13/09 6660m C3 14/09 7200m HPt 15/09 8050m Soria, Lopez, Carcavilla, Ming Temba, Pasang Nurbu, Dawa Temba, Temba Bhote (Hatiya), Ngima Dorchi. High point team started from C3 at 10 pm on 14 Sept. At first they took the wrong coloir to about 7900m. The Sherpas radioed down to the kitchen and contacted Chang Dawa of Seven Summit and noticed that they were in the wrong coloir. They decided to traverse farther to the right looking for the right coloir. However, they were not sure where the right coloir was and decided to descend at about midday. They descended to C3 where they arrived at 7 pm. On 16 Sept the members descended to C1 to stay the night as they did not want to cross the Eiger zone late in the afternoon. The Sherpas continued to BC. On 17 Sept everyone at BC. They stayed at BC for one week. The weather was bad and on 26 Sept they tried again to ascend, but only reached C1. When they reached there, their tents were destroyed. They recovered the material and descended to BC. The conditions were too dangerous. Pasang Nurbu and Ngima Dorchi stayed the night at C1 and ascended to C3 the following day to fetch oxygen regulators. Cacavilla left the expedition on 25 Sept. Rest left BC 29 Sept in helicopter to Kathmandu. Fixed rope: 400m in the Eiger zone Bbetween C1 and C2 200m, C2 to C3 600m, C3 to High Point 500m Sherpas: Ming Temba, Makalu-9, Makalu-Barun, 28/04/1988 Temba Bhote, Pawakhola-7, Makalu-Barun, 19/03/1982 Dawa Temba, Makalu-5, 17/09/1984
